Welcome to the Bitsy Page!

"Woahzers, I made it!"
You sure did!
--------------------

So, What is Bitsy?

In short, its a software thing that makes tiny games.
I don't remember exactly how I found bitsy, since
it was over two years ago now, but what I find
more important is the stuff you can make with it
when you have LITERALLY nothing better to do!!!
For example:

ART!!!

I made some of these while in class. Making art this way is fun, but it takes a while to get a hang of.
--------------------
Everything in bitsy is made of binary tiles, you can see them when you open the game data.
due to this, you can literally type up new bitsy tiles and paste them into your games!
I'd do that a lot when making my bitsy art, since id sometimes plan out the bigger
sprites in Pixilart and then throw an 8x8 checkered layer over it. When I was REALLY
Into making them, I'd type out the new tiles in notepad using a monospace font I made.
(The things you do for more frames on animated tiles...And for curing boredom...)
--------------------

"What about actual games? Surely you made some!"

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I have this thing called: I forget to finish them.
Such a thing also goes hand in hand with this other
thing I have, called: I think way too big when it comes
to 'micro-games'.
I'll get an idea for a game, get really hyped
up about it, then crash and lose all interest in it, even
if I really wanna do it. for that reason, I've only ever finished
one bitsy game on my own. two years ago.
and I made it in two days.
Yeah.
I had a bitsy game I ALMOST finished, but I got frustrated
trying to figure out the end cutscene and that was it for that game.
I'm still somewhat mad I never finished that game, especially since
working on it on the side got me through the last stressful month of
my first year of college.
The game was about a purple (and literal) cat girl trying to find
a purpose and rescues a snarky fish from a pond on the way through its town.
this was the map I put together of the game in order to make sure the buildings lined up.
that red and blue room was the end cutscene :pensive:
I even had a title screen! technically, this was my first ever piece of Bitsy art!
I think its pretty good.
